What we do
TravelpoweR provides support, assistance, and companionship to adult travelers who can not or choose not to travel alone. TravelpoweR tailors these elements to meet the specific wants and needs of individuals for pre packaged or specialized travel. Our goal is to provide quality vacations to individuals regardless of their limitations. When companion (chaperone) travel is required, TravelpoweR bases pre-arranged trip costs on a 3-1 ratio of vacationers to volunteers, with special consideration given to higher-need individuals.

TravelpoweR is not a travel agency, all travel arrangements are made through Mike McMullen Travel Consultant with Robert Q Travel (Byron Office) reg # 04650271

TravelpoweR utilizes its long-term expertise in arranging travel, skilled support or assistance (as requested), and effective cost-cutting methods to enhance the potential for people seeking travel and adventure. Based on the needs of the participants, we provide carefully selected and qualified Volunteer Support Workers to accompany individuals who have difficulty traveling on their own.

TravelpoweR through licenced agencies, also investigates travel options that may include sharing of various costs such as lodging, food and ground transportation. This cost sharing may open up opportunities to those who might otherwise be unable to enjoy travel due to financial constraints. Whether you want to cruise the Baja Peninsula, play at Disneyland, experience an exotic overseas adventure or simply relax at a weekend retreat or just getaway, we can help. TravelpoweR offers a variety of options that provide freedom for individuals that may not be able to engage in such experience on their own. In addition, these opportunities often provide a respite option for families and caregivers.

Volunteer Travel Companion Assistance Service

How does it work?
Our outstanding staff and volunteers consists of well qualified, highly motivated individuals from a wide variety of disciplines, who share in our dedication to improve and enhance the lives of all the individuals we serve.
Some are special educators, registered nurses, Health care aids, developmental service workers, and more.
Many of our travel companions work full time in human service positions and often take their vacation time in order to accompany our travellers.
On TravelpoweR support assisted trips, your travel companions are chosen according to your needs, and have one goal in mind - your enjoyment and satisfaction with your vacation.
On 24hr fully supported trips, costs for companions are shared on a 1 companion to 3-customer basis, thereby reducing the high cost of 1 to 1 travel companions. The travel costs of transportation, meals, attractions and spending money for your companion are all included in the cost of your all inclusive trip quote based on this 3-1 ratio. Persons that require a more 1-1 type of companion may be required to bear additional cost that can be discussed with a TravelpoweR representative.

What does a volunteer traveller do?
Typically your travel assistant is there to handle the things on your vacation that you may find difficult to do on your own. This may include, personal care, driving, handling luggage, making travel and entertainment arrangements, meal preparation, cleaning, and providing safety and security. Additionally, assistance with medications, personal moneys, airline boarding is also available.
